Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili Rematch Set For UFC 268

UFC Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will be defending her strawweight title against the former champion Weili Zhang. The duo will be rematching at UFC 268. The event will be taking place at the most iconic arena of them all, at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 6. During the latest UFC on ESPN 30 broadcast, the UFC made the entire card official.

The card is going to be headlined by the much anticipated welterweight championship rematch. The welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will look to make his fifth title defense at UFC 268. His challenger will be none other than the guy he probably hates the most in the division, Colby Covington. The pair have fought previously at UFC 245 with Usman getting the late fifth round finish.

Another matchup on this card is a lightweight fight filled with guaranteed fireworks written all over it. The top contender Michael Chandler and the most violent guy in the UFC, Justin Gatehje will clash. Both of them are coming off losses in their respective title fights. This fight made this card an amazing one and raised its stocks to sky-high.

Rose Namajunas vs Weili Zhang- The Rematch

UFC 261: Zhang Weili loses strawweight title to Rose Namajunas

Rose Namajuans will be facing Weili Zhang in the rematch of their first fight at UFC 261 in April 2021. Namajunas knocked out Zhang just 1:18 into the first round of their fight. She dropped Zhang with a head kick, then pounced on her opponent until referee Keith Peterson stopped the fight.
After defeating Zhang, Rose became the two-time strawweight champion. She first won the belt when she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk. She went on to fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk in their rematch and defeat her again. Rose lost the belt to Jessica Andrade as she got slammed on her head and was knocked out.

Weili Zhang came in the UFC as a strawweight prospect and went on to put on a show in each of her fights. She fought Jessica Andrade for the belt and defeated her by TKO just 42 seconds into their bout in August 2019. Zhang then becomes the UFC’s first Chinese champion.

She then went on to fight the former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and fought a war against her. The fight was one of the best fights in the year 2020. Weili came out victorious in that fight. She then tried to defend her throne against Rose but was unsuccessful in that attempt. She got knocked out with a head kick in the first round.
Now at UFC 268, Zhang will get a chance to avenge her only loss in the UFC when she fights the champion Rose Namajunas
