UFC 263 marks the return of one of the biggest superstars in the MMA world, Nate Diaz. He has helped the sport transcend to a different level. The way he has evolved as a fighter and as a person throughout his MMA journey is astonishing. From making 20k per fight to getting paid millions is a perfect example of how quickly things can change for a fighter if he just keeps doing his job which is showing up and fighting. Nate was originally supposed to face Leon Edwards at UFC 262, but the fight got postponed as Diaz suffered an injury in his training camp. But now their fight at UFC 263 is just one week away and both the fighters are ready to make history as their fight will be the first five-rounder non-title co-main event fight. This is all because of the Nate Diaz effect which has always made UFC bring new changes just for him. But this time the concept was much needed and we all hope that UFC continues to make such important matches a five-rounder fight.

The last time Nate fought in the octagon was in another iconic fight featuring two of the baddest fighters in the UFC. Nate fought Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 for the one and only ‘BMF’ belt. The concept of the belt was right out of Diaz’s head. He created the idea of ‘BMF’ and said he would like to fight the baddest and toughest fighters in the company for this belt. Unfortunately, he lost the bout via doctor stoppage as he had suffered a huge cut on his eyebrow which made the doctor wave of the fight and Jorge Masvidal went on to become the first-ever ‘BMF’ champion.
Nate has been fighting in the UFC since he was 20 years old. Now after being in the game for so long and earning huge paychecks for his fight against McGregor and Masvidal, Nate still wants to fight and wants to fight the best opponents in his division.

In a recent interview, he said that he will continue to fight the biggest fights in the UFC, or else he wants to fight the best fighters in the UFC.

“I’ve been fighting for the last 10, 15 years,” Diaz said during a UFC 263 preview (via TheMacLife). “I’ve done it all. I’ve fought all these guys. I’ve done more and done better than anybody. Keeping it real all the way through. I’m like a triathlete, get better with age. Nobody has stayed on top as long as me, and I’m still headlining shows.
“I’m out there to show people I’ll beat the best of the best. If I’m not going to fight the biggest fight I could possibly find, I’m gonna fight the best fighter that I could possibly find.”

Nate will be fighting Leon Edwards who possibly the worst matchup he could have chosen. But if you know the man you know the way he does things. Leon Edwards is riding an amazing 8 fight win streak and since his last loss which was against Kamaru Usman back in 2015 he has shown an immense level of improvement in his game and a win over Nate will put in right in the top slot for title contention. Leon is a heavy favorite over Nate in this, matchup and many people are counting him as a safe bet. But it’s Nate who is always known for pulling off some spectacular wins and has given people an opportunity to make some money from him. On Bet 365, Leon Edwards is a -500 favorite while Nate Diaz is a +365 underdog.
