Floyd Mayweather vs Conor Mcgregor: The Money Fight

Mayweather-McGregor

Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor’s fight is considered the biggest fight in the history of combat sports. The fight took place at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, on August 26, 2017, at the light-middleweight limit. It was scheduled for twelve rounds and recorded the second-highest pay-per-view buy rate in history. The purse for the two fighters was astonishing, with Mayweather reportedly earning $280 million from the fight and McGregor earning $130 million.

The fight began with Conor showing his dominance in the striking by landing some really good shots on Mayweather which shook him in the early rounds of the fight. Floyd did a very good job of rolling with the punches and didn’t take any of those shots clean. Right after the fifth round, it was a Floyd Mayweather show. Widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time Floyd showed the world why he is the best. He made Conor very tired and made him miss and use his all energy while Floyd was just picking him apart. He took over the fight in the later rounds and then landed some brutal shots and won the fight in the 10th round via TKO. Mayweather announced in his post-fight interview that he had fought his final boxing match and would officially retire from the sport. But guess what he is still fighting and making a ton of money.

If the second fight does happen it will be fascinating to see how both fighters approach the fight. In their first fight, Mayweather opened as a heavy favorite at -2250 while McGregor opened up as a massive underdog at +950. It will be interesting to see what will be the odds ahead of their rematch.
