UFC 264 will take place on July 10, at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. A lightweight trilogy between former interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier and former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will headline the event. The pairing has previously met twice before: their first fight was a featherweight bout that happened in September 2014 at UFC 178, where McGregor won by first-round technical knockout. They then ascended to lightweight for an eventual rematch in January 2021 at UFC 257, where Poirier prevailed via second-round knockout. The pair had a completely different journey from each other in the UFC. Conor Mcgregor went on to become the biggest star in MMA. Whereas Dustin Poirier becomes the fighter who achieved everything with hard work and had seen lots of ups and downs in his career. But today both of them sit at the same place and are looking to get a win over each other. A victory will no only seal the series at a personal level but also the winner will most probably get a shot at the title which is held by Charles Oliveira.

Dustin Poirier’s Coach Gives Prediction For UFC 264

Dustin Poirier’s boxing coach Dyah Davis has given his prediction for the contest that is about to go down between Dustin Poirier and Conor Mcgregor at UFC 264.
“Dustin is active, I think that definitely plays to his favor,” Davis told MMA Junkie. “Conor was out of the game two, three years so ring rust can possibly play a factor in it, but listen, you’re a fighter. Conor is a fighter first and his job as a fighter is to be in the gym on a constant basis. You should be training, you should be sharpening your tools and that’s what Dustin does. Even if he doesn’t have a fight scheduled, he’s still in the gym, he’s still training, he’s still doing what he’s supposed to do. He’s still being responsible as a fighter.”

Dustin Poirier defeats Conor McGregor by knockout at UFC 257

His coach said that their approach for this fight will be the same they had in the previous fight. In their last fight, Dustin started chopping Conor’s leg and then waited for the perfect opportunity to unleash some heavy punches on him. His coach then gave a very bold prediction for the trilogy fight.

“I take this approach as if a lumberjack, we’re in a forest,” Davis said. “The idea is to chop the tree down from the bottom and that’s exactly what we did. It’s a fight. So we look for any weaknesses that we could take advantage of and that was one of them. So we capitalized and we moved on from there and ended up finishing him with strikes.”
He continued, “I think it’ll play out similar to the second fight, maybe a little bit longer. I see us executing and getting a KO victory in the third round.”
This fight will be one of the biggest fights if not the biggest in the history of the UFC. Conor McGregor has opened -115 favorite and Dustin Poirier is a -105 underdog.
