Cowboy vs The Great White at UFC Vegas 26

If you are looking for an interesting match-up this weekend look no further than UFC Vegas 26, where you will get to see a Cowboy fight a Great White inside and octagon.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will be facing off against Alex “The Great White” Morono.

Morono is taking this fight on very very short notice. He will have had six days of preparation, not a lot of time in a violent sport that requires being fully prepared physically and mentally.

Of this is all the result of Diego Sanchez’s release from the UFC by President Dana White. Sanchez and his coach have been accused of acting erratically. And when they refused to release his medical records stating he was free of any short or long term health issues the UFC cancelled his contract with the promotion.

The UFC and White have pointed the finger more at Sanchez’s coach Fabia as the main reason for his release.

After being informed of the change, Cerrone said in a statement:

“I’ve never seen someone get thrown off cause they’re crazy. It’s a first for me. But short notice is short notice. Usually I’m the guy filling in, but not the other way around.”

“I was looking forward to the fight. I’m going back to 55, so taking this fight, I was like man, now I’m going to take a short notice fight against a 70-pounder. I was only doing it for the UFC, they asked me, Diego begged for the fight, wanted it and I said cool, I wanted to go to 155. So here we are at 170 again and as soon as this fight’s over, I’ll be hollering for 55. Excited to go get paid on Saturday.”

And you hope he is getting a good paycheck out of this because he didn’t get a fair share for fighting McGregor. And for this fight he might not be fighting just for the win but for his career. Cerrone has been on a losing streak as of late, albeit to some pretty tough competitors, but losing none the less. He has had to make several adjustments for this fight already but the veteran says he is ready to go.

“Cowboy” has lost 5 straight with one being overturned due to NIko Price testing positive for banned substances. “The Great White” has been doing a little better winning four out his last six, however, his opponents have not been the quality of Cerrone’s.

Even with Cerrone possibly being the toughest fight Morono has faced in a while the odds are not too terrible against him. As the underdog he sits between +120 and +169, and with Cerrone coming in between -176 to 200 you have a good chance to make some money with just a straight line bet.

Of course parlaying the bet and going for a prop bet will net you more, but when you get odds like these a bet on either fighter is pretty good.
