But event after full critical analysis of a fight the fight turns out to be the opposite of what people have bet on. There are many incidents in the promotion where the fight went exactly the opposite of what the favorites were and the underdog got the fight. UFC 69: -1300 St. Pierre vs. +850 Serra

The card was headlined by heavy favorite Georges St-Pierre defending his welterweight title against The Ultimate Fighter 4 welterweight winner Matt Serra. In one of the biggest betting upsets, GSP who was a -1300 favorite lost the fight in the very first round via TKO.

However, Assunção opted to decline the bout as a rib injury sustained in his last bout at UFC 170 had not healed enough to resume the proper training in advance of the event. Barão instead fought T.J. Dillashaw in the main event. As a result, Dillashaw’s original opponent at the event, Takeya Mizugaki, faced Francisco Rivera. TJ won the fight via TKO in the fifth round and scored one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.

Promotion contacted Edgar and asked if he would accept a fight with fellow undefeated fighter Tyson Griffin at UFC 67. Griffin caught Edgar in a deep kneebar at the end of the fight, but Edgar refused to tap and lasted out the remainder of the round to win by unanimous decision. This was one of the biggest betting favorite losses and the opponent was a debutant.

The event was expected to be headlined by a Middleweight Championship rematch between champion Luke Rockhold and former champion Chris Weidman. They previously met at 194, when Rockhold won Weidman’s title via fourth-round TKO. However, Weidman pulled out on May 17 due to a large extrusion herniation on his neck. Therefore, he was replaced by The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Michael Bisping. The fight was also a rematch as the two met previously in November 2014 at Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Bisping, with Rockhold winning via submission in the second round. Bisping won the rematch via knockout in the first round to become the Middleweight Champion and the first British UFC champion.
