BEST UFC SUBMISSION OF 2021

10 – DUSTIN POIRIER VS CHARLES OLIVEIRA

A UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Charles Oliveira and former interim champion Dustin Poirier served as the event headliner at UFC 269. The fight took place on December 11, 2021. At the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. 

The fight was going well for Poirier in the first round but got dominated in this second round of the fight. He then gave up his back to Oliveira who locked up a standing guillotine choke. He Submitted Poirier in the third round of the fight.

A lightweight bout between Islam Makhachev and Drew Dober took place at UFC 259. They were previously scheduled to meet in April 2016 at UFC on Fox: Teixeira vs. Evans, but the bout was scrapped after Makhachev failed an out-of-competition drug screening, testing positive for the banned anti-ischemic medium. Islam dominated Drew for the majority of the first two rounds before submitting him in the third round. Islam locked an amazing arm-triangle and submitted Dober.

8 – VICENTE LUQUE VS TYRON WOODLEY

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley fought top welterweight contender Vicente Luque. The duo fought at UFC 260. The vent took place at took place on March 27, 2021. 7 – VICENTE LUQUE VS MICHAEL CHIESA

The duo fought at UFC 265. It took place on August 7, 2021, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, United States.Vicente Luque faced Michael Chiesa on August 7, 2021, at UFC 265.

Julian and Maki fought in the main card of UFC 258. The took place on February 13, 2021. At the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. 

Pitolo went after Marquez as soon as the fight began, and after landing a couple of hard shots, the two clinched against the fence, with Pitolo landing a flush elbow before taking the fight to the mat. With a little over a minute left, he rattled Pitolo with his strikes, and as the fight went to the mat, he sunk in the anaconda choke that forced Pitolo to tap out at 4:17 of round three.

5 – KHAMZAT CHIMAEV VS LI JINGLIANG

This Fight took place in the evening in Abu Dhabi, which was the morning and afternoon in North America. It was the first numbered UFC event that was not pay-per-view in the United States since UFC 138 in 2011.

Chimaev opened the fight with a takedown on Li, and after some steady groundwork, he flattened his foe out just before the midway point of the round, and after a series of strikes he sunk in the rear-naked choke that ended the fight

4 – ISLAM MAKHACHEV VS DAN HOOKER

The duo fought at UFC 267. The event took place on October 30, 2021, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Islam was set to fight Rafael who pulled out and was replaced by Hooker

The fight was one-sided domination by Makhachev. He took Hooker down and locked a perfect Kimura lock.

3 – BRANDON MORENO VS DEIVESON FIGUEIREDO 2

A UFC Flyweight Championship rematch between champion Deiveson Figueiredo and former title challenger Brandon Moreno took place in the co-main event of UFC 263. The event took place on June 12, 2021, at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, United States.

Moreno dominated the striking and grappling exchanges and submitted Figueiredo with a rear-naked choke in the third round.

2 – ANDRE MUNIZ VS JACARE SOUZA

The pair competed at UFC 262. The fight took place on May 15, 2021, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, United States.

Muniz won the fight via technical submission in the first round after breaking Souza’s arm in an armbar. He became the first person to submit Souza in the process.

A middleweight bout between five-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Rodolfo Vieira and Anthony Hernandez took place at UFC 258. The fight took place on February 13, 2021, at the Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. 

Hernandez won the fight via a guillotine choke in round two in a huge upset. He dominate his opponent in all aspects of the game and then submitted him. He was also a huge betting underdog in the fight.
